Durham County Recycling

How to contact the Durham County Recycling Programs.


Recycling in Durham County

Tidewater Fibre Corp., 957-8803, handles curbside recycling for Durham City and County. Call for information and/or request a recycling bin. Items for recycling must be placed in a blue recycling bin and placed at the curb on same day your household solid waste. (If you do not know your collection day, call 560-1200.) By law, metal cans, glass bottles and jars, newspaper and corrugated cardboard must be recycled. Items accepted at curbside also include glossy magazines and catalogs, and plastic bottles (#1, 2, 5, 7). For recycling drop-off sites in your area, call Durham Recycling: 560-1200 (city), 560-0430 (county).
