Have you ever thought about:

Then consider connecting with a group that helps you do all of that... a group focused on current issues... issues affecting you, your community, your state, and your country... issues on which YOU can make a difference.
That group is the League of Women Voters! Membership in the League of Women Voters, the most respected and effective grassroots organization in the country, is open to men and women of all ages.
Each member participates in the League as personal time and preference permit. There is a place for everyone and every lifestyle.

Benefits of Membership
We focus on service to the citizens of Orange, Durham and Chatham counties, but the League of Women Voters is organized to parallel the local, state and national levels of government. Membership in any local league automatically confers membership at the state and national levels. With membership comes the opportunity to work on local, state, regional and national issues.
Through participation in League projects, you will contribute valuable service to the community, discover new interests, learn about crucial issues in your community, and meet others in the League who share your interests. As an automatic member of LWV North Carolina and LWV of the United States, you will receive their publications along with our electronic newsletter, the E-VOTER.

- reading about issues of interest to you in one of our publications.

Membership Dues
The LWVODC fiscal year is July 1 - June 30. Membership dues, the most important part of our overall income, meet the administrative expenses of our League. They support our community forums and membership meetings. A portion of each member's annual dues is paid to the National and State LWV to assist their efforts on behalf of all Leagues.
Voter education through candidate forums, Voter Guides, and community education through the Citizen's Guide would not be possible without your support.
LWVODC Membership Dues
Individual Membership: $55
Household Membership: $82.50
Full-time Student Membership: $30
Membership Scholarships are available; request to membership@lwvodc.org for approval from the League Leadership Team..
How do I join?
There are several ways in which you may join the League of Women Voters.
If you are joining the League as a new member after January 31st, you only need to pay half of the membership fee for the remaining year

Non Tax Deductible DonationsDonations
Donations to LWVODC, which are not tax deductible, may be included with your dues payment above. These donations help support LWVODC operating expenses and its scholarship fund.
TAX Deductible Donations
The Citizen Education Foundation (CEF) is the 501(c) (3) citizen education and research arm of the League of Women Voters of North Carolina. CEF provides research, publications, and forums on public policy issues. It can be used to disseminate information and provide training to help citizens be thoughtfully engaged in the democratic process. It can also help pay per member payments to support the LWVUS educational work. CEF funds may be used only for educational activities, not for advocacy or action.
